Overview

Proximity Mobile, LLC (“us,” “we,” or “Proximity Mobile”) takes the privacy of our customers (“Customers”) seriously. The following Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and store your personal information in the Proximity Log mobile application (“Application”) and the Proximity Log web site (“Web Site”) at http://proximitylog.com/.

What information do we collect and how is it used?

User Application Data – Proximity Log enables a user to track their time spent at specified locations. For each location of interest, the user can specify a location on a map and input a location name, address, and other related information so that the application can track visits to the location in the background and display relevant time tracking analytics. This information is stored only in a local database on the device and we do not have access to the information unless you explicitly send it to us by using the application  feature to export the data to a CSV file and send it to us via e-mail.

Web Site Analytics – On Proximitylog.com, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors engage with our website. Google Analytics collects information anonymously. They collect standard technical information, such as the IP address of the computer you are using; the browser software you use and your operating system; and the Internet address of the website from which you followed a link to our site. We are able to review reports with website trends without identifying individual visitors. Although Google processes and stores usage information about the use of this site, it does so strictly as our agent. Based on options we have selected, Google’s policy is to refrain from any other use or sharing of this information. Mobile Application Analytics – The Proximity Log application uses mobile analytics services from Flurry and Localytics to collect aggregated analytical information to help us improve the performance and reliability of the application. The application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use the application. These vendors use this data solely on our behalf. They do not share it except in aggregate form. You may opt out from sharing this data by updating your preferences in the settings screen of the application. Please refer to the Flurry and Localytics privacy policies for more information about their policies that govern the use this data and to learn about additional tools to opt out of data collection for these services.

E-mail Addresses – We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. From time to time, we may also send our own informational, educational, or promotional material to you at the e-mail address you’ve provided. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?

The Proximity Log application makes use of GPS and other related location technologies to determine your current location in order to track analytics related to the locations you specify. You will be asked for your permission each time a location-based service is requested. If you do not want us to use your location for these purposes, you should turn off the location services for the mobile application located in your account settings.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.
We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
  • if Proximity Mobile, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.

What are my opt-out rights?

You can stop the collection of anonymous web site data by installing a tool developed by Google at the following link.

You can stop the collection of mobile analytics data by updating the “Send Development Info” preference on the Proximity Log settings screen or you can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling the Application.

Children

We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy@proximitylog.com. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes

We may update and amend this Privacy Policy at any time by posting the amended Policy on the Proximity Log website at http://www.proximitylog.com/privacy.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. “Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States. If you reside outside the United States your information will be transferred, processed and stored there under United States privacy standards.
